Lolita on the go

Viikko sitten sunnuntaina kävin lolitatapahtuma Cremessä tämän näköisenä:
A week ago on Sunday I went to the lolita event Creme looking like this:

Tapahtumassa sai harrastaa decodeniä! Sain vihdoinkin kännykästäni ihanan tyttömäisen ♥

Tapahtuman jälkeen oli niin pimeää, että kuvan ottamiseen sopiva valaistus löytyi vain Alepasta. Päälläni on Asio Otukselta ostettu ihana villaneule.
After the event it was so dark that the only place with enough lighting could be found in a grocery store. I'm wearing a lovely wool cardigan bought from Asio Otus.

Seuraavana päivänä kävin Serinan, Caramean ja Sairysin kanssa Ouncessa.

The next day I went to the Ounce with Serina, Caramea and Sairys.

Paita ja hame ovat myös uusia, nekin Asio Otukselta.

Olen todella innoissani, koska huomenna lähden pariksi viikoksi JAPANIIN! Aion olla sielläkin lolitana, joten blogimateriaaliakin varmasti kertyy. Aion myös ostaa paaaljon söpöjä vaatteita! Blogi ei siis nyt päivity pariin viikkoon, mutta syyskuun alussa palaillaan!

I'm very excited because tomorrow I'll go to JAPAN for about two weeks! I'm going to wear lolita there, too, so I believe I'll get some blogging material. I'm also going to buy lots and lots of cute clothes! Therefore, there will be a two-week break from updating the blog but I'll be back at the beginning of September!

Leopard girl

Perjantaina sain Rittikseltä pyynnön lähteä kaupungille lauantaina, ja sehän sopi! Paremman tekemisen puutteessa olin kierrellyt vaatekauppoja poikana yksikseni melkein koko viikon, mutta nyt päätin ehdottomasti laittautua tytöksi. Viime kerrasta olikin aikaa jo tarkalleen kaksi viikkoa - aivan liikaa! Halusin vaihteeksi kokeilla arkisempaa lookia, jolla en erottuisi ihan niin paljon massasta. Saatan mennä jopa paremmin läpi tytöstä, kun ihmiset eivät katso minua ihan niin kriittisesti kuin loleillessani. Niinpä olin perjantaina vielä kauppojen sulkemisaikaan ostelemassa melkein paniikinomaisesti vaatekappaleita lauantain asuuni, jonka halusin onnistuvan. Eräässä H&M:ssä oli alennuksessa leopardikuvioinen hame, joka antoikin inspiraation koko asuun...

On Friday Rittis asked me to come and hang with her on Saturday. I gladly accepted! Not having many things to do, I had been shopping alone in the boy form nearly for the whole week but now I absolutely wanted to dress up. Last time I dressed up was exactly two weeks ago - far too long ago! I wanted to try something more casual for a change so I wouldn't stand out from the crowd that much. Maybe I can even pass as a girl more easily when people don't stare me as critically as when I'm wearing lolita. Therefore, as late as the closing time was I still shopping clothes for Saturday's outfit which I wanted to be successful. In a certain H&M there was a skirt with a leopard print for sale, and that skirt gave me inspiration for the whole outfit...

Shoppailukierros oli antoisa, mutta perinteiseen tapaan jalat tulivat sietämättömän kipeiksi kuuden tunnin koroillakävelystä. Ainoa ostokseni oli kiiltoa poistava puuteripaperi, joka on kätevä vaihtoehto puuterin jatkuvalle lisäämiselle. Onnistuneita asukuvia tuli kuitenkin mukavasti, kiitos Rittis!

The shopping tour was an enjoyable one but as usual, my feet really hurt after walking for six hours in high heels. The only thing I bought was powdered paper which is a good alternative to constantly adding powder on your skin. I'm happy we got so many good outfit pictures, thank you Rittis!

An Ounce of pictures

Ennen the Ounceen menoa oli kuitenkin asukuvien aika. Käytin ensimmäistä kertaa Sugarycottonilta ostamaani, hänen itse tekemäänsä ihanaa hametta. Kiitos Ludmillalle tämän söpön asennon ehdottamisesta (ja kuvien ottamisesta)!

Lolita Fashion Show @ Animecon!

Kesän suurimpia kohokohtiani oli Kuopion Animeconin lolitamuotinäytös, johon olin Kaichin ja Serinan kanssa suunnitellut asuani jo paljon etukäteen. Asuni oli muuten sama kuin Pariisissa, mutta päädyin käyttämään eri peruukkia. Se kannatti, koska Mimi taiteili minulle aivan uskomattoman hienon kampauksen (kiitos Mimi, sekä kaikki meikkini kanssa auttaneet ♥!) Tämä on ehdottomasti yksi ihanimmista asukokonaisuuksistani, joka minulla on ollut. Haluaisin olla useamminkin näin prinsessana!

One of the greatest highlights of my summer was the fashion show at Animecon in Kuopio. I had been preparing my outfit for the show with Kaichi and Serina since long ago. The outfit was basically the same as in Paris, with the exception that now I decided to wear a different wig. It was definitely worth it, as Mimi was able to create an unbelievably lovely hairdressing for me (thank you Mimi and everybody who helped with my makeup ♥!). I think this is definitely one of the loveliest outfits I've ever had. I'd like to be this kind of a princess even more often!

Koko näytöspäivä sujui tosi hyvin. Oli ihanaa, miten minua kohdeltiin tyttönä, aivan samoin kuin muitakin lolitoja. Tunsin tosiaan kuuluvani joukkoon!


The entire fashion show day went very well. It was wonderful how I was treated as a girl, just like the other lolitas. I really felt like I was part of the group!

Vaikka sain monilta hyviä poseerausvinkkejä, stressasin poseistani paljon ennen lavalle menoa, enkä loppujen lopuksikaan keksinyt neljää hyvää 10 sekunnin posea. Ajattelin, että antaisin tilanteen viedä mukanaan ja tekisin ne poset, jotka siinä tilanteessa tuntuisivat luontevimmilta. Kuten videosta näkyy, olin lavalla kuitenkin sen verran jännittynyt, että en pystynyt selkeään ajatteluun vaan vääntelin vain itseäni levottomasti erilaisiin poseihin. Näytöksen jälkeen sain ilokseni kuulla myös palautetta, että epävarmuuteni oli oikeastaan söpöä ja vaikutti jopa harkitulta elementiltä. Ensi kerralla aion kuitenkin harjoitella poseni niin hyvin etukäteen, ettei lavalla tule ainakaan yhtä suurta epävarmuutta.

Although I got some good advice on posing, I was very stressed about my poses before going on the stage and I could never come up with four good 10-second poses. Therefore, I thought I'd go with the flow and make the poses that feel the most natural in the situation. However, as you can see on the video, I was so nervous on the stage that I couldn't think clearly, resulting in some uneasy and troubled posing. To my delight, after the show I got feedback that my uneasiness was actually pretty cute and looked like it was intended. All the same, next time I'm going to practise my poses so well that I won't be that troubled on the stage.

Koska olin keskellä, sain toimia loppuniiauksen aloittajana. Se oli suuri kunnia ♥!

Because I was in the centre, I got to be the starter of the ending curtsey. It was a great honour ♥!

Kokemus oli niin mahtava, että haluaisin mielelläni osallistua tuleviinkin muotinäytöksiin, kunhan saan taas hankittua uusia ihania asuja!


The experience was so great that I'd really like to take part in lolita fashion shows also in the future, provided I can get some new lovely outfits first!

Lolita Convention in Paris (Includes a surprise!)

Viime merkinnästä onkin jo hurjan pitkä aika, mutta nyt on taas asiaa! Matkustin nimittäin viime viikolla Hannan kanssa Pariisiin Lolita conventioniin!
It's a long time since I wrote last time, but now I have something to tell you again! The thing is, last week I went to Lolita Convention in Paris with my friend Hanna!

Tältä näytin ensimmäisenä conipäivänä, sunnuntaina, J&J:n mekossa ja Lockshopin peruukissa. Kengät  alkoivat kuitenkin hiertää ikävästi, joten olin tässä asussa vain vajaan päivän.
This is how I looked like on the first con day, on Sunday, wearing my J&J dress and the Lockshop wig. However, the shoes started to abrade my feet so much I could't wear the outfit more than half a day.

Kyseessä oli ensimmäinen kertani tyttönä Suomen rajojen ulkopuolella, joten odotin jännittyneenä, miten ranskalaiset reagoisivat tyttöilyyn. Suhtautuminen tuntui olevan hyvin samanlaista kuin Suomessa: jotkut vain katsoivat pitkään, jotkut supattivat toisilleen "garçon" (= "poika"). Ehkä joku harva jopa luuli tytöksi.

This was the first time I was as a girl outside the borders of Finland so I was excited to witness Frenchmen's attitude towards crossdressing. It seemed pretty much the same as in Finland: some were just gazing for a long time, the others were whispering "garçon" (= "boy") to each other. Maybe someone even thought I was a girl.

Itse con oli pieni pettymys minulle, koska olin odottanut hieman suurempaa tapahtumaa. Conin myyntipöydät oli käyty läpi nopeasti, ja ohjelmaakin oli aika vähän conin kestoon suhteutettuna. Oli kuitenkin todella mukava tavata eri maalaisia lolitoja. Tapasin muun muassa venäläisen, englantilaisen ja ranskalaisen brolitan! Maanantain lolitamuotinäytös oli conin ehdoton kohokohta.

The con in itself was a little disappointment for me as I had been expecting a bit larger event. It didn't take long to go through the shop stalls, and considering the length of the event, the weren't many shows to keep the audience entertained. However, it was really nice to meet lolitas from different countries. Fow example, I met three brolitas from Russia, Great Britain and France. Monday's lolita fashion show was the absolute highlight of the con.

Blogin ensimmäinen POIKAKUVA! Tältä siis joudun näyttämään silloin, kun en ole tyttönä. Valitettavaa mutta totta :(.

Kävimme myös Baby, The Stars Bright -lolitabrändin myymälässä. Oli upeaa päästä käymään siellä, vaikka en ostanutkaan mitään (useimmat mekot olivat liian lyhyitä minulle).

We also visited the shop of the lolita brand Baby The Stars Shine Bright. It was amazing to get to visit the shop even if I didn't buy anything (most of the dresses were too short for me).

Pakko myös mainita Princess Crepe, josta sai mielettömän hyviä kreppejä (ostin suklaajäätelökrepin)! Jos vastaava olisi Suomessa, menisin sinne usein syömään kreppejä lolitana ♥!

I also have to mention Princess Crepe where one could buy amazingly delicious crepes (I bought a chocolate ice cream crepe)! If a boutique like this existed in Finland, I would often go there to eat crepes wearing lolita ♥!

Satuin törmäämään eräässä pariisilaisessa näyteikkunassa myös tällaiseen ihanaan mekkoon. Paljon kauniimpaa mekkoa en osaisi kuvitellakaan...

I also bumped into this kind of lovely dress in a shop window in Paris. I couldn't even imagine a dress much prettier than this...

Helsinki Pride 2012

Eilen osallistuin ensimmäistä kertaa Helsinki Pride -tapahtumaan, kun päätin osallistua Pride-kulkueeseen. Fantastinen kokemus! Laitoin päälle vain tavallisen loliasun, mutta jos olisin arvannut, miten paljon ihmiset olivat kiinnostuneet ottamaan minusta kuvia, olisin panostanut ehkä vielä vähän enemmän.
Yesterday I took part in Helsinki Pride for the first time as I decided to take part in the Pride parade. A fantastic experience! I was wearing just a usual lolita outfit, but had I guessed people were so eager to take pictures of me, I might have chosen a bit more impressive outfit.

Asussa ei siis ole mitään uutta tai ihmeellistä, mutta tässä kuitenkin kuva kulkueen jälkeisestä puistojuhlasta:

Minä ja Akiko pääsimme myös Hufvudstadsbladetin kanteen. Meitä myös haastateltiin, mutta ilmeisesti haastattelu oli niin mitäänsanomaton, ettei sitä valittu lehteen.
Me and Akiko also made it to the front page of Hufvudstadsbladet. We had also been interviewed but apparently the interview was so bland that it wasn't chosen to the newspaper.

Oli kyllä upeaa kävellä suuressa kulkueessa pitkin Aleksanterinkatua ja Mannerheimintietä satojen katsojien ympäröimänä. Kiitos myös loistavalle seuralle! Ensi vuonna uudestaan!
It was just so great to walk along Aleksanterinkatu and Mannerheimintie in a big parade, surrounded by hundreds of spectators. Also, thanks for the great company! I'll definitely go to next year's Pride too!

Shopping for J&J outfit

Maanantaina tapasin kaverini Hannan ja Petran. Petra teki minulle upean meikin ja Hanna toimi asukoordinaattorina. Tässä onnistunut lopputulos:
On Monday I met my friends Hanna and Petra. Petra did a wonderful makeup for me and Hanna worked as an outfit coordinator. Here's the successful result:

Päivän suunnitelmana oli mennä ostamaan kengät ja asusteita, jotka sopisivat hyvin yhteen J&J:n mekkoni kanssa (linkki). Sille on nimittäin luvassa paljon käyttöä lähiaikoina (siitä lisää myöhemmin). Jo kesken meikkauksen postimies toi minulle tämän ihanuuden!
The plan of the day was to buy shoes and accessories that would go well with my J&J dress (link) which I'm going to be wearing a lot soon (more on that later). Already during the makeup did a postman bring me this!:

Kävimme monessa kenkäkaupassa ja onneksemme törmäsimme yhteen kenkäpariin, joka oli selvästi ylitse muiden! Nämä sopivat niin täydellisesti J&J:n mekkoon, että ne oli pakko ostaa. (Kauppa Andiamo)
We went to many shoe shops, and luckily we came across a pair of shoes that was clearly above the others! These shoes fit the J&J dress so perfectly I just had to buy them. (From Andiamo)

Lisäksi ostin asuun yhteensopivia hiusruusuja (H&M).
In addition, I bought hair roses matching with the outfit (H&M).

Sopivaa laukkua ei vain löytynyt. Jokin tämäntyylinen voisi kyllä olla sievä erivärisenä:
